This is a BC Win and You're In race
Little Mike, the 2012 GI Breeders’ Cup Turf winner, will take to the Monmouth Park turf this Saturday leading a field of 8 top older turfers into the $500,000, GI United Nations Stakes at 1 3/8 mile!
Little Mike, the front-running 2012 Breeder’s Cup Turf champ is 0 for 2 this season as both loses came over in Dubai this winter. He’ll try to make it back to a winner’s circle visit here at Monmouth Park this Saturday to capture that “Win and You’re In” ticket for a B/C Turf title defense later this year at Santa Anita Park!
Teaks North, who due to injury could not defend his 2011 GI United Nations Stakes title last year, is back this year and looks to be in good form once again!
Willcox Inn, who has found a home on the board in all his 2013 graded turf outings as he recently came a good 2nd in the GII Dixie Stakes at Pimlico on Preakness Day last out! He’s always a top GI turf runner and always is a threat for a Winner’s Circle visit with just the right trip!
Big Blue Kitten , winner of 2 very top turf Aoc’s earlier this season and again some pretty good company too. Finished 2nd to Boisterous in the GII Monmouth Stakes here last out. This one could be on the cusp of a big performance here this Saturday
Skyring, the very surprising winner of the GII Dixie Stakes at Pimlico last out, besting the likes of Willcox Inn and Optimizer in a career best effort. He’ll be going a whole extra 1/4 mile here on Saturday, around 3-turns if memory serves, so more pacing would be the key for him in this race.
Russian Greek , Hangover Kid and long distance runner Harrods Creek are not quite the same measure as the favorites here but if you can get a big enough price perhaps one of them can get up late for a super fill!
So, It’s “Win and You’re In” time here at the Shore’s Greatest Stretch” Monmouth Park this Saturday as they proudly play host to this 2013 Breeders’ Cup Turf ticket to ride in the $500,000, GI United Nations Stakes.
This race will also serve as the first North American “Win and You’re In” contest for this year’ $3,000,000, GI Breeders’ Cup Turf again at Santa Anita Park later this fall!
