LOVE this!! I get excited TRYING my very best to pick matches for this mare or that mare...I heard about a month ago that they were sending her to War Front but I couldn't confirm it as rumor or fact so I just sat tight and waited.
I think War Front is a nioce match for Zen...he is not a terribly big horse (like her), yet can bring in tenacity and procociousness. He is a "sound" stallion meaning he doesn't infuse unsoundness into it and he is seemingly doing very well. I think it is a good cross (of course, it's an A++) and should work well with Zenyatta's bloodlines.
I can't wait until Animal Kingdom heads to stud so I can run a True Nick on him to see what kind of cross they would make...I knwo it brings ALOT of grass influence into it and there is already a strong grass influence on Zen's side BUT given Zen's ability and talent on two surfaces (dirt and synthetics...I always thought she would run REALLY well over grass but never got the chance to see how she would do) coupled with AK's ability and talent over dirt, grass and synthetics...I think it would be a good match but have to run the nicks and see for sure. One thing I really like is that the people at Team Zenyatta REALLY do their careful homework and scrutinize the very best stallions to determine good crosses for her...I think Dottie and David Ingordo have a strong hand in that if I remember right. Either way, I can REALLY appreciate that they work hard to find the very best matches for her.
While The Cozmic one (Z12) is sure a pretty boy...this latest colt (Z13) is sure adorable. He has mom's ears (gets that from the Princequillo line in his pedigree I think) but he is going to be a stunning horse I think. He has a great build and looks to have a long stride even at his young age. He seems VERY alert, intelligent and yet independent. Z12 seemed to stay closer to her when he was little but Z13 tears around that paddock with his buddies and bucks and kicks and plays without having one eyeball on mom. He is just too cute. I hope he gets the best of BOTH Mom (Zen) and Dad (Tapit). I am SUCH a sucker for any and all those Tapits!!

Update: Zenyatta nicks with Animal Kingdom as an A...not too shabby...I know if it were me I would TOTALLY overlook those ++ signs I normally hone in on when nicking and go for it...Methinks this would be an amazing resulting baby! I LOVE what both parents bring to the table and combined I think the resulting foal would have a helluva future filled with potential to run anywhere over anything. Both Animal Kingdom and Zenyatta are such classy and intelligent horses. Their great minds and personalities have helped them in their careers because they absorb everything like a sponge....that is a VERY good quality in a horse...basically bombproof. LOVE IT!
