You might have to do some research! I have to go with Secretariat because I think he's the best thoroughbred to runiun the TC. I know I'm biased because I was at his Belmont! 1 Vote! Results shown after voting. Does anyone know if during the 25 years between Citation and Secretariat, people were speculating that horses wereno longer well bred, or lacked stamina, or w/e?

I voted for Affirmed because he had to "earn" his Triple Crown.

It depends on what defines impressive. In Sir Elite's world we tend to say 3 track records and a 32 length Belmont win would be that. However we also see the merit in Affirmed's feat. No TC winner had to deal with an Alydar! In the end Secretariat still wins. Sham was no slouch either.

While Secretariat arguably deserves this "award"...My heart goes to SEATTLE SLEW....while he may not have had an Alydar to battle with he DID manage to sweep the Triple Crown undefeated. NO OTHER TC winner has...for that and th efact that he is likely one of THE Most influential stallions of the last century I cast a close second to Slew.
If I go off my heart....well anyone can tell you that Secretariat and Seattle Slew aside (who got me into horse racing that fateful day un June of 1977 when I sat down on the ottoman in our living room with my Dad and watched a pretty black horse named after the city I lived in win the Belmont).....The kookiest horse is my all time fave. LOVE ME SOME MR. LONGTAIL...aka WHIRLAWAY!
