Discussion on pedigrees and running long distances and suggested changes to TC.
TCI: Do ‘Figures Lie and Liars Figure’ When It Comes to the Belmont? The TCI Boys welcome back special guest Ray Paulick for a discussion on this year’s Belmont Stakes, as well as a historical view of the final leg of the coveted-but-elusive Triple Crown. Does pedigree matter most when going 1 1/2 miles? Or does it just take the right horse and the right ride?

The Belmont has taken a turn in recent years just as the Derby has. Oftentimes, the horse that wins is not necessarily the best horse but the horse best suited for the 12 furlong distance which makes the possibility of another Triple Crown Winner more and more remote with each passing year.
With that being said, there should be NO CHANGES made to the Triple Crown. If we are never meant to see another the likes of Whirlaway, Citation, Secretariat, Seattle Slew and Affirmed, then so be it. But let's reserve that special place in history for those that truly deserve it and not cheapen the legacy of the greats that came before.

Elite says abolish the series now...any winner will be the first Triple Clown winner and not deserve to be alongside the immortals...The Gods kept Real Quiet and I'll Have Another out of it. RQ would have been a disgrace and IHA was deserving in Elite's opinion but he was probably the very last who could be. We laughed so hard at the Orb talk ;D...They were crowing him a TC winner off a slop race. Usually they have the decency to wait until after Pimlico..These lemmings need lives..Paulick included, he couldn't carry the Eliteone's telly but then again who could?

Abolish the series? ? Why so we as racing purists can cling to the memories of the great horses of the past forever? Frankly, I think it is high time that we move on. The next Triple Crown Winner, whoever it may be and I do believe that there will be another one, will be just as deserving as those that came before him should his feat be achieved under the same merits. As for Orb, his failure says more about the difficulty overall of the Triple itself than it does about his quality as a racehorse. Everything must go perfectly in order for a horse tobe able to make the sweep. And everything went perfectly for Orb until he drew the dead rail in the Preakness. You'll see a much improved effort at his home track Belmont. Now, with that being said Teach, what does Quantums Nation have to say about Incognito's chances?
