I always thought this series was the KY Oaks, the Black Eyed Susan and the Acorn because they are the filly races run with the TC races. I guess that's not correct. There really is no official Filly TC now.
I do remember from the old days that people seemed to consider the races run right before the TC were considered the Filly TC. So, I'm heading to the Acorn!
Information for the "Filly Triple Crown"
In recent years, many owners and trainers of fillies have submitted proposals to the National Thoroughbred Racing Association to change the three races that compose the Triple Tiara. Although a great deal of prestige is attached to winning one or more of the current Triple Tiara races, all three are held in New York; because of this, the series is skewed to fillies that race in the northeast. Some from outside the area even modify the name of the series by calling it the "New York Triple Tiara."
Several options of races have been suggested to compose the "National Triple Tiara." The most popular proposal of races to compose a "Triple Tiara" series are the Kentucky Oaks, run at Churchill Downs in Louisville; the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes, run at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore; and the Acorn Stakes, run at Belmont Park. A second proposal has been to use the Kentucky Oaks, the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes and the Mother Goose Stakes. This version would allow more time for fillies to recuperate between races. Using the Mother Goose would also allow the NYRA to keep its three races in place as its own series without interfering with the three National races.
In 1979 Davona Dale was the only filly to have won any combination of races seriously proposed for the National Triple Tiara. She won the Kentucky Oaks and Black-Eyed Susan Stakes, and also won both races proposed for the New York leg (Acorn Stakes and Mother Goose Stakes).
These races in the most popular proposal are near equal distance to their Triple Crown counterparts except for the Acorn, which is at a distance of one mile as opposed to the Belmont's mile-and-a-half distance. This series is thought to be a better choice for the Triple Tiara series, seeing that the three races are considered the most popular races for fillies. Each race receives considerable national network coverage, as it is run within 24 hours of the marquee event at each track. The Kentucky Oaks itself is known for drawing the third biggest crowds of any stakes races throughout the year, except for the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes.[3] The Kentucky Oaks even outdraws the Belmont Stakes, the Travers Stakes and the Breeders' Cup series. Each race is also the night before its Triple Crown counterpart, except the Acorn, which is a race that immediately precedes the Belmont Stakes. Note - Not this year!

I found this information. What other fillies are possible entries?
The $300,000 Acorn Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York.
The 2013 Acorn Stakes is for three year old fillies and will run on May 27, 2013. The race is set for one mile on dirt. The following horses have been mentioned to run in the race:
Kauai Katie is a female bullet. She’s won 6 of 7 career races with four in graded company and recently destroyed the short field in the Road Princess Stakes at Aqueduct on April 13 in preparation for this race. She won the Adirondack Stakes (G2) at Saratoga and Matron Stakes (G2) at Belmont Park last year at age two. This year, the Malibu Moon filly trained by Todd Pletcher has won the Forward Gal Stakes (G2) and Old Hat Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park. Her lone loss came as a 4th in the Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) going 1 1/16 miles on November 2. She wants to sprint and it shows. In the six wins, she’s won by a total of 38 1/2 lengths. The shortest margin of victory was 2 3/4 lengths and the widest being 12 lengths. She’s won at 5 1/2 furlongs, six furlongs, 6 1/2 furlongs and seven furlongs. Tough to beat.
Flashy Gray was a late scratch to the Kentucky Oaks by trainer Bill Mott. The runner-up in both the Fair Grounds Oaks (G2) and Honey Bee Stakes (G3) at Oaklawn Park will instead wait for this race. On October 5, the Flashy Bull filly finished 2nd at Keeneland going 6 1/2 furlongs on the all weather track. She shipped to Churchill to try the dirt and that did the trick. She crushed a field of 11 other fillies by 10 1/4 lengths going 6 1/2 furlongs. After a 3 1/2 months off over the Winter, she returned to win an Allowance Optional Claiming $75,000 at Gulfstream Park by 4 3/4 lengths going seven furlongs. After her two attempts going longer distances, she will return to middle distance here in the Acorn.
Midnight Lucky had her undefeated streak snapped with her 5th place finish in the Kentucky Oaks. The Bob Baffert trained filly by Midnight Lute won both of her previous races including an eight length win in the Sunland Park Oaks (G3) at Sunland Park on March 24. She actually broke the track record for 1 1/16 miles in the process. Her final time was 1:41.06. Her debut was back at Santa Anita where she won a 6 12 furlongs sprint by 7 1/4 lengths.

Pletcher added that he plans to run Kauai Katie in the Grade 1 Acorn on the Met Mile undercard. She will likely be challenged by Cue the Moon, Let Me Entertain U, Manuka Honey, Midnight Lucky and Momentary Magic.

Evelyn, I am not really sure K.K. wants to go past a mile.

There are really 2 races a year for 3 year old ladies. The oaks and the alabama, the rest are a distant second.

Mack - Isn't The Acorn a mile? I don't think she's a distance horse but I do think she can get a mile.

Yes it is a mile. KK doesn't want to go an inch over that.

Look for Midnight Lucky to rebound off of her disappointing effort in the KY Oaks.

Kauai Katie Looks to Extend Streak to Four Straight in G1 Acorn By Jenny Kellner
NYRA site
Kauai Katie is even money to keep her perfect record in 2013 intact Monday when she faces five other 3-year-old fillies in the 83rd running of the Grade 1, $300,000 Acorn at Belmont Park.
The one-mile Acorn will be run as race 9 on the 11-race Memorial Day card, one of a trio of graded stakes supporting the 121st running of the Grade 1, $750,000 Metropolitan Handicap.
A winner of six of her seven starts by a combined margin of 39 lengths, Kauai Katie opened her sophomore campaign with an eight-length score going six furlongs in the Grade 3 Old Hat on New Year’s Day, and later that month added a front-running, 5 ½-length triumph in the Grade 2 Forward Gal at seven furlongs, both at Gulfstream Park. She returned from a three-month freshening with an easy win in the seven-furlong Road Princess overnight stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack.
“We didn’t want to go from a long break from the Forward Gal to the Acorn, so that’s why we ran her in the overnight stakes,” said Todd Pletcher, who trains the Malibu Moon filly for Stonestreet Stables. “We’re hoping she got enough out of it to set her up for this.”
The Acorn will be Kauai Katie’s second start beyond seven furlongs, having suffered her only career loss when she was fourth in the 1 1/16-mile Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
“I don’t think, for whatever reason, she handled the Santa Anita surface at all,” said Pletcher. “She’s been very consistent other than that. We know she’s a top-class sprinter, and we’re hoping we can stretch her out to a mile.”
Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez, who was aboard for both Kauai Katie’s victories in Florida, will ride from post position 1.
Expected to attract considerable support is the Bob Baffert-trained Midnight Lucky, who set the pace in the Kentucky Oaks before fading to finish fifth. The gray daughter of Midnight Lute was a 7 ¼-length winner first time out on February 16 at Santa Anita Park, in which she earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 100, and next romped by eight lengths in the Sunland Park Oaks.
Baffert, who won last year’s Acorn with Contested, has named Rosie Napravnik to ride the Mike Pegram color-bearer, the 7-5 second choice on the morning line from post position 5.
Drawing the outside post position Grade 2 Gazelle winner Close Hatches, most recently seventh behind winner Princess of Sylmar in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks. Trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott, the First Defence filly rallied from ninth to win her first start on January 26 at Gulfstream Park, and next was a front-running winner of an optional claimer going 1 1/16 miles.
“She didn’t seem to run her race in the Kentucky Oaks,” said Mott of Close Hatches, a Juddmonte Farms’ homebred. “She had trained well coming into the race, and she seems to be doing well again back in New York. The distance shouldn’t be a problem as she’s a filly who has some speed.”
Joel Rosario will ride Close Hatches, 6-1 on the morning line.
Trainer Jim Bond will be represented by Spendthrift Farm’s Cue the Moon, third in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Oaks to Dreaming of Julia in her 2013 debut, and William Clifton, Jr.’s Momentary Magic, who broke her maiden on March 17 at Gulfstream in her third start.
“Both fillies are doing fantastic,” Bond reported from Saratoga Race Course. “In her first race back, Cue the Moon ran into Dreaming of Julia – who ran a tremendous race – and I think Cue the Moon needed the race. Momentary Magic has been Cue the Moon’s workmate, and Cue the Moon can’t get past her. I’ve always believed she was a superstar. Her last race was pretty strong.”
Javier Castellano will ride Cue the Moon, 12-1 on the morning line, from post position 4, while Luis Saez will be aboard Momentary Magic, 15-1 on the morning line, when she leaves from post position 2.
Rounding out the field is Elizabeth Valando’s Let Me Entertain U, fifth behind Close Hatches in the Gazelle last time out.

Agree Katie wants no part of anything a mile or longer. Also think Close Hatches could do something in here as well. Let's not forget that she defeated the Oaks winner Princess of Sylmar on the square in the Gazelle.

Nice I guess I can give myself a pat on the back for that one. Great performance by Midnight Lucky. Close Hatches second.

She was awesome! Midnight Lucky Shakes Clear for Acorn Triumph By Esther Marr Photo: Coglianese Photos Midnight Lucky wins the Acorn Stakes. Midnight Lucky more than made up for her lackluster fifth-place performance in the May 3 Longines Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) when the Bob Baffert-trained filly unleashed a powerful 6 1/4-length victory in the May 25 Acorn Stakes (gr. I) (VIDEO) at Belmont Park. Owned by Karl Watson, Mike Pegram, and Paul Weitman, the favored daughter of Midnight Lute completed the one-mile dirt contest in 1:35.11 under jockey Rosie Napravnik. “We had a great trip,” said Napravnik after the race. “I really liked the post position (5) and we were able to sit off the speed. Kauai Katie actually kind of had to sit back, so it was good for us, too. This filly just did it very easily and she’s a very, very nice filly.” Bred by C. Kidder and J.K. and Linda Griggs, Midnight Lucky was a $220,000 purchase at the 2011 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling sale. The filly entered the Kentucky Oaks by merit of her 7 1/4-length maiden victory, as well as her track record-setting victory in the March 24 Sunland Park Oaks. Winning three of her four starts, she now has earnings of $362,100. In the Acorn, 32-1 longshot Momentary Magic out-sprinted the six-horse field to the lead, zipping through an opening quarter in :22.53 and :45.28 for a half-mile, with Kauai Katie and Midnight Lucky trailing close behind. Around the far turn, Midnight Lucky remained glued in second with Kauai Katie racing on the rail and Close Hatches making a sweeping move on the outside. At the top of the stretch, it was still a wide-open race until Midnight Lucky stepped on the gas and emerged with the lead. Close Hatches continued to make a bid on the outside, but Midnight Lucky and Napravnik pulled away easily for the dominating victory. “I was expecting maybe the 1 (Kauai Katie) to be on the lead, not the 2 (Momentary Magic), but other than that (the race) shaped up as I expected,” said Jim Barnes, assistant to Baffert. “I wanted to be sitting anywhere from 2 to 2 1/2 lengths off the pace, which we were. They were moving right along, and at no point did it look like she was struggling with the racetrack. She’s just a really nice filly and we’re so happy to train her. The plan right now is day-by-day. We’ll go back to Churchill and go from there.” Another Kentucky Oaks starter, Close Hatches, finished second in the Acorn, three quarters of a length in front of Kauai Katie. Cue the Moon, Let Me Entertain, and Momentary Magic completed the order of finish. Bred in Kentucky, Midnight Lucky is out of the Citidancer mare Citiview. Evelyn: The KY Oaks form seems to be holding up very well. A good sign for fillies like Dreaming Of Julia, Unlimited Budget and of course, the winner, Princess Of Sylmar.

YIPPPEEEE!
I am elated! I am such a sucker for those Midnight Lute babies and was cautiously hopeful that somehow Katie wouldn't beat up on her too badly but was over the moon when I saw her take command and never look back!
WOOT! WOOT!!
