Just like the Mickey Mouse Forum. We here at Quantum U did not even bother to weigh horseflesh or opine on this piggy race. The only relevance it has is to show Lukas is strictly minor leagues now and that Baffert is THE major league killer of good horses ..How many does he have to ruin before you Baffert worshippers finally get off your knees? The Bald Eagle would slap him silly. Talk about amateur hour, Frank Mirhamadi....Sounded like he was talking about Smarty Jones...NOT...Stick to imitations Frank. You have always suked at horses and calling races. Any Questions? Class Dismissed!

and yet pletcher takes the heat from those who revere BB
not a fan of either and would never place a horse in their care but seriously, maybe the time has come to limit how many horses a trainer can have under his name - the assistant trainers - who are actually doing the work - should be named as the horse's "trainer" - these corporate trainers don't have their hands on every horse under their name - and imo - that's what makes a good trainer

That race has been crap for a while. None of these "preps" should be given a grade 1 status. I would like to know has there been any derby prep within the last 5 years, regardless of track that deserved a grade 1 rating?

NO! because there are very very few G1 horses going past a mile, rarer at 10f and zero past 10f of course. Regardless of what the trainers/owners or the racing media wants people to believe the hype because it is nothing more than hype.

Actually Cait, that was new to me! there are plenty new to me in racing today, been off racing since 84 or 85? and only came back in 2009 and started perusing, reading and watching youtube races. What I see today is shocking to say the least!! and I am here on record that if nothing changes, eventually there won't be any racing forum to mingle!! ;D having said that, both the oaks and derby are WIDE OPEN RACES!! told E1 that I like Java's War, hopefully he can get a pocket and get cover early and about 7-8 lengths behind at the far turn, also rooting for Shug with Orb because I like the connections romantic connection to classic distance horses. you know the real thoroughbreds great values in this races specially the KD, the superfectas should pay great, if i want to get off, i would key java the first 4 positions with * how much is that with 19 horses?

You know how I feel about Shug / Phipps bro but this is where Quantums seperates us. I can't be waiting on an Orb and rooting for him because of what Easy Goer and Buckpasser have done. Orb is from a new era. One that will be looked back upon as the Dark Ages in American breeding and racing too of course. He is slow and lumbering for a top horse and nowadays he does pass for a top horse. He could get better and even be monster like at 4 if given the chance. Right now though we are talking about the development of 3 years olds on the first Saturday in May.

E1, I hear ya, not a single of thls so call KD prep is a G1 but if you want to see the real great thoroughbreds make a comeback, that slimmest of chances is going to come from those who believes real racing is at the classic distances. and Orb's connection is one of the very few left.
