Eblouissante headed to New York

ARCADIA, Calif. - Eblouissante, a half-sister to 2010 Horse of the Year Zenyatta, is expected to be part of a 22-horse group that trainer John Shirreffs will ship to Belmont Park in New York later this month.
Shirreffs said on Tuesday that his Belmont Park runners will leave California on April 22, and that more horses could be sent later.
The 4-year-old Eblouissante, unbeaten in two starts, is expected to make her next start at Belmont Park. She is owned by breeder Eric Kronfeld, who lives in New York. Shirreffs said he is in the process of discussing with other clients which runners will be sent to New York and which will remain in California.
Tuesday at Betfair Hollywood Park, Eblouissante worked a half-mile in 48.20 seconds. Shirreffs said he does not have a race in mind for Eblouissante.
“She worked very nicely,” Shirreffs said. “I can’t really plan a race until she goes five furlongs.”
Eblouissante beat maidens at Hollywood Park last November and won an allowance race at Santa Anita in January. She suffered a bruised foot after the January race and was out of training earlier this year.
Eblouissante was considered for the Grade 1 Santa Margarita Stakes at Santa Anita on March 16, but Shirreffs scrapped plans for a start when he was not happy with the way she was training in March. Tuesday’s workout was her second in the last four weeks.
