First Frankel Foal Arrives at Coolmore Bloodhorse
Juddmonte Farms announced the first foal by superhorse Frankel was foaled at Ireland's Coolmore Stud on Jan. 11.
The colt was produced from multiple group III winner Chrysanthemum, a daughter of Danehill Dancer campaigned by Coolmore's Michael Tabor, Susan Magnier, and Derrick Smith.
"The stud reported that the foal is a handsome colt with a good head, a white blaze, and great presence," a Juddmonte release said.
"From the reports that I have received, Frankel's first foal is everything we could have hoped for," Juddmonte Farms general manager Philip Mitchell said in a release. "These are very exciting times for everyone who has supported the horse and we much look forward to the rest of his first crop of foals."
Chrysanthemum was the first mare scanned in foal to Frankel last year, and this is her first foal.
The world's top Thoroughbred when he retired after winning all 14 of his starts, Frankel stands at Juddmonte's Banstead Manor Farm where his 2014 fee is £125,000.

Photos from Racing Post-London/National Stud Posted Jan 20 This is his 2nd foal, not the colt at Coolmore. The Dam is not named. As per NS "sorry, but as we've mentioned previously we can't discuss specific details about our clients horses for confidentiality reasons." So we have to take their word she's "a Frankel"! Their post is wrong as his first was a colt! But I think they mean the foal count at National Stud. From National Stud: "Another new arrival! (6 photos) The foal count for the season has gone up to two, and so far it's fillies 2 - Colts 0. This little one arrived shortly after 5am on Sunday morning, and she's a little beauty. Hardly surprising though when you consider her sire - she's a little Frankel!" All photos are owned by The National Stud

Thanks Key. When will Coolmore release photos of the colt? HOPEFULLY SOON, THEY TEND TO BE VERY LOCK AND KEY WITH THEIR HIGH PROFILE FOALS. WITH THIS FOAL BEING FRANKEL'S FIRST SON HE IS ESTIMATED TO BE WORTH 6 MILLION.

AS I SAID YESTERDAY FRANKELS FIRST SON HAS BEEN GIVEN AN ESTIMATED VALUE OF 6 MILLION HIS FIRST DAUGHTER IS VALUED AT 3 MILLION (BPS NOT DOLLARS) Three-day-old filly is the first daughter born to the sporting legend Frankel Huge expectations placed on adorable foal to live up to her famous father But the newborn won't even set hoof on a racecourse for at least two years She is exactly the same colour as Frankel, even down to facial markings Frankel, who is valued at £100million, won all 14 of his races before retiring At only three days old, she is still a bit wobbly on her legs. But her future is already looking bright and the way ahead paved with gold. For this foal’s famous father means she could be worth a cool £3million. She is the first daughter of sporting legend Frankel, the world’s top-rated racehorse who won all 14 of his races before retiring in 2012. Like her famous father, who is valued at £100million, the filly – who has yet to be named – is bay in colour and has a similar white blaze on her face. w11.zetaboards.com/Tattenham_Corner/index/

ISN’T SHE LOVELY: MEET FRANKEL’S FIRST FILLY Paulick Report
She’s just a few days old, but she’s already famous. This little cutie is the second foal – and first filly – born this season from the first crop of champion Frankel.
Born Jan. 19 at the National Stud in England, she is out of the Sadler’s Wells mare, Song, an unraced full sister to champion Quarter Moon, and to Irish classic winner, Yesterday. Song is a half sister to Betterbetterbetter, the sales topper at the 2013 Fasig-Tipton November sale.
Song sold in foal to Frankel for 1 million Euros (not 100 million, as the reporter states in the video) at the Goffs November sale.
Frankel’s first foal is a colt, out of the mare Chrysanthemum, born at Coolmore Stud in Ireland earlier this month.

INTERESTING THAT FRANKEL AND HIS FOALS HAVE GRABED MORE HEADLINES IN THE U.S. THAN WISE DAN, HMM NOT BAD FOR A HORSE WHO MANY AMERICANS HAD NOTHING BUT BAD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT.

OWNER-BREEDER John Singleton has confirmed his multiple Group 1 winner More Joyous has returned from Britain to Australia and is in foal to world champion Frankel.
Singleton sent More Joyous, a daughter of More Than Ready, to Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket last year with another of his classy mares, More Strawberries, to be covered by the unbeaten Frankel to southern-hemisphere time.
Seven-year-old More Joyous, a daughter of More Than Ready and Australian Oaks heroine Sunday Joy, won eight Group 1s under the tutelage of Gai Waterhouse, including the prestigious Doncaster Mile at Randwick.
More Strawberries, also by More Than Ready, was also trained by Waterhouse and was a Group 2 winner who also finished second in the Group 1 Coolmore Flight Stakes.
Dual world champion Frankel covered a limited book of mares to southern-hemisphere time last year.

It was in 2010 that I first became aware of FRANKEL, and I saw all of his races thereafter. Each of his races was incredible, and having watched videos of them again he looks even more incredible then when I first saw the races live on TV.
After the 2011 2000 Guineas I thought how wonderful it would be to breed a mare to him.
My wife and I own a Storm Cat mare out of Warrior Queen named Egyptian Queen, who is a half-sister to A.P. Warrior. She was not pregnant at the time, and I thought she could be sent to England and would be a great candidate to breed to FRANKEL.
I was embarrassed to contact Juddmonte, but after a few weeks decided I could deal with any rejection that might come my way and enquired about breeding Egyptian Queen to FRANKEL.
James O’Donnell in the Nominations department was every good to me, but Egyptian Queen was rejected. Egyptian Queen’s Galileo two-year-old colt has since won a Gr.3 race in December 2013 at Santa Anita.
James asked if I had another mare I wanted them to look at. All our other mares were pregnant and I did not think it wise to send one to the UK, so it was suggested I purchase a mare. I was thinking this was going to be impossible, but decided to go to the Tattersalls December Mares sale in Newmarket.
Juddmonte would not accept any of the mares I selected at Tattersalls and it seemed my dream was over, as the sale was the next morning and I thought I was out of luck.
However, on the morning of the sale James told me that Juddmonte’s General Manager Philip Mitchell was keen to have me breed a mare to FRANKEL, and asked me to meet with them and give them another list of mares that were going to be sold that day. Philip Mitchell and James accepted seven mares from my list, and I was excited as the dream seemed possible again.
I did not like the first one to come into the ring and passed on her. The second one was Compelling, a young Kingmambo mare in foal to Montjeu on a very early cover. We purchased her and were extremely pleased with her, more so as the day went on as the other five mares all sold for over $1,000,000.
James arranged for us to board Compelling at Charlie Wyatt’s Duke’s Stud in Newmarket, which was a wonderful experience as they were extremely nice and very competent. Compelling foaled a Montjeu filly and was subsequently bred to Frankel on 19th February 2013.
She was successfully scanned in foal, and extreme excitement and pleasure followed.
Compelling and her Montjeu foal came home to Man o’ War Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, in May of 2013. Everything went wonderfully and Compelling foaled her bay colt by FRANKEL on the very, very cold morning of 18th January 2014.
It was an easy birth, and the foal is very nice with a lot of bone and very strong. Not too big, but a decent size. As foals do, he is improving every day, and has been out running and jumping in the snow.
Compelling’s Montjeu filly was smaller when she was born but has grown to be a really nice, strong yearling.
So, our dream to breed to the best horse ever has been realised, and we feel blessed as to how we were treated by Juddmonte and further blessed to have a Montjeu filly and our FRANKEL colt safely on the ground.
We hope he turns out to be half as good as his father!

JUDDMONTE IS ON A VERY STRICT BREEDING POLICY WHEN IT COMES TO FRANKEL, THEY HAVE ADOPTED THE "GALILEO CLAUSE" WHICH MEANS THAT JUST LIKE GALILEO AT COOLMORE FRANKEL IS ONLY ALLOWED TO MARES WHO HAVE WON AT LEAST AT THE G3 LEVEL OR WHO IS A DAUGHTER OF A G1 WINNING DAM.
