If you watch this year's Preakness, none of the obvious renovation crap in your photos is there now. What's shown in your photos is NOT permanent. Yes - It's an inner city, ugly, low class neighborhood but the track was fine. And I saw no barbed wire! You and Wiz are just negative about anything you don't like and refuse to think and understand that others disagree with you! LOL W/E Unimportant! Cait can chime in anytime since she practically grew up at Pimlico LOL Do you really think NBC is going to show the REAL Pimlico on Preakness Day? The "not permanent" chain link fences with barbed wire were still there the last time I saw the infield, more than four years after my pictures. They were not "renovation crap". BTW, I never mentioned the neighborhood. I can look past that - a number of older racetracks are in bad neighborhoods but that never stopped me from going to them. The first that come to mind are Aqueduct, Hollywood Park, and Churchill Downs. But this was supposed to be about our favorite Breeders' Cup races, not the relative state of disrepair of racetracks.

i love how i am bashing the east just because i say something negative about anything in the east. did i say every track there sucks? certain things suck about certain places. and pimlico racetrack, as a whole, sucks. its a dump. might have nice people working there. might have nice horsemen. might even have great memories for someone. but in the current state it is in it sucks, and it would suck if it were in maryland or if it were in ca. just like holy wood did as george said.
you worry an awful lot ev about george and i agreeing on stuff. why is that? im sorry that there are a few people on here who actually uselogic and reason sometimes.

not wanting to bother but seriously, it's deteriorated however work is being done - hey - it's old! George - there's no barbed wire around the track - some in the barn area - in that neighborhood, the whole place should have a huge brick wall around it! hell - the houses have barbed wire around them lol there are new barns and the tracks themselves are in excellent condition - especially the new turf course - sorry but Suffolk (and haven't been there for years), aside from some pretty flowers, was a dump - aqueduct, aside from a coat of paint, is a super dump! as I said before, I go to the track to see the horses - inside at pimlico is safe and clean - the tracks are great, the horses - on a day to day basis - are better quality than most day to day tracks including churchill and aqueduct - and even delmar - which has really low level horses - day to day - and due to md's "crackdown", the horses are a helluva lot healthier
wiz - you really don't know what you're talking about - end of story

you have lost your mind. really. as much as l dislike churchill and aqueduct, pimlico has nowhere near the same level of quality horses as they do, and the del mar comparison is utterly ridiculous.
i dont know what im talking about? i know what i have seen in the pictures. the place is a dump. as is aqueduct. suffolk seems like a nice looking place. but what matters is all three deserve or need to go for one reason or another.

No way Pimlico or Churchill goes anywhere. The structures at Suffolk are far worse than Pimlico. And I agree on a Day To Day basis, better healthier horses. During the week, Delmar runs garbage which will hopefully change when it's dirt.
